I imported my database a couple of years ago from FTM. Those names are in upper/lower (normal) case. Names that have gone in since then are appearing in all uppercase in the Surname list. If I add a new person with a surname that already exists in the master list, it is being duplicated but all in uppercase.
I think that I've found what is causing this situation. I knew that I had the option set to display surnames in uppercase. But what I found when I checked it is that I also had "Letter case of surnames" set to uppercase. I haven't tested it yet but I'm fairly certain that it's the cause.
