Or, to save a bunch of re-linking, unlink wife one (make sure she is highlighted) and then add a new wife to that marriage and name her XXX (or whatever). Do the same for wife two, replacing her with YYY. Now merge wife XXX with wife two and YYY with wife one. The children stay put and the parents are correct.
