Hello, I am new to your group. I am noticing all the hype about the IGI. I signed up and got a usuer account, but when I try to use it from my legacy problems it says "problem logging in to family searc.org, then when i click ok it says your are nont currently signed to search the IGI, and I may want to check my family search account information and opitions. I have looked for this but do not see options and selecting search account settings. Hmmm, can anyone help me see what and where I am missing it? Thank YOU. Lorilynn

Click on Search / Search the IGI website... And you will be able to do
the IGI searching right from within Legacy. If you don't have this
version, click on Internet / Check for Legacy Update... And download the
newest version.

You should also have the Geo database installed. If not, you can go to
Options / Customize and on the "Other" tab, select "Database
Maintenance..." This should get you up and running with the IGI
searching capabilities.

Yeah, I just used it. Found somebody already in my database too. But why does it want to use the Geo Database? I don't have that installed. And when I do the IGI search up comes a Geobase installation screen (???!!!) Why? That's one of the bugs IMO. I should be able to search the IGI from within the program just as I can on the web, without all the Geobase stuff. Even granting that the geobase makes IGI searches better, I should still be able to do the searches without geobase. Strictly speaking I can, but I don't want to have to dismiss the humongous dialog box wanting to install geobase every time.
