Marie, We recommend to save to the hard drive and then burn to the CD because the program isn't set up for directly burning to CD and that doesn't always work correctly. If it works fine for you and you can successfully restore the backup, that's fine.

Jan, You should just do a backup of the Family File and then burn that backup over to the CD. That way, you'll have all the necessary associated files in one neat bundle with the main Family File.
