Yes, I updated my data from the IGI. Works for me with only a few minor
problems.

The data (dates, locations, names) will be added to your Database along with
sources from which it came.

I mostly updated dates and places or alt dates. You can update the basic
individual's information to include marriage information, parents, etc. It
is basically very similar to merging two data bases where you may have
imported a GEDCOM. You can look at all of an individuals fields for matches
and determine whether you want to use some, none, or all of the information.
Since I only started with a max of 5 hits or matches, I normally had at
least 5 people to look thru for each individual to see if any of the data
was worth using.

This Legacy search IGI capability is similar in nature to another well known
genealogy program that does intelligence matching based on your uploaded
GEDCOM with choices for adding/changing your DB.

The nice thing that Legacy has done is to allow full editing after the
automated merge of one or several fields for an individual in essence
providing full control for adding, replacing, editing, and sourcing the data
as it is entered.

Another thing that would be nice is to be able to filter the location
information according to the formats one specifies in the
GeoCountryCodes.txt file.

I tend to use the following format:
city (Ponca City), county (Kay Co), state (OK), country (USA),

but the location information normally comes across as:

city (Ponca City), county (Kay), state (Oklahoma), country (United
States of America)

You can edit the person after the merge and correct the format using the
GeoDatabase information just like you would on adding a new person to your
database.

Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] IGI Search / Tag / Untag capability

When you say that "I then starting viewing the results and correcting my
Database starting alphabetically thru the list until the last IGI search had
ended", do you mean that you updated your Legacy database with findings from
the IGI Search?
