Subject: [LegacyUG] Children out of wedlock

I have tried Family Tree Maker 2005 and Family Tree Legends, and though I
much prefer the windows-like interface, they just don't have the options
that Legacy offers. That being said, I sure hope they can fix some of these
errors...it is the only program that I think is worth using out there.

I am a beginner and only just joined the user group and was hoping someone
could give me advice on how to handle children that were born out of
wedlock...I entered a "spouse", but changed all the noun/verb combos to
"met", "meeting", "friend", whatever....

...but on a report, it still says Married. Is that yet another error that I
need to live with, or could I be doing something wrong? Can I link a child
to his/her father without the man being the actual spouse? Can anyone offer
advice to a geneaology newbie? Thanks.
