I'm wondering, after all this discussion about improving things for web site creation, if it's in the plans to support presenting a selection (up to all available) of pictures? I don't have the time (as I suspect many of you share with me) to go investing in hand-coding pieces of a feature we hope can do the job for us. I'm happy to have what's there but now I'm getting pressure from family to see the other images I have available. As it is now, I have to choose between typical photos of people and critical documents and such. It'd be nice to be able to present these all as intended.

In fact, what I'd really like to see is full support for a "Gallery" concept.

Let me choose from the available pictures and have these presented both as thumbnails of my chose size (my choice would be much larger than standard thumbnails) and then higher resolution, larger shots for those with broadband access. I'd also like to see Legacy handle that so that I can point it to a single, highest possible resolution shot and have it take care of providing more acceptable bandwidth versions. As it is now, I force dial-up family members to endure long waits because I don't have the time to go and create low-bandwidth versions of the hundreds of images I have. Yes, I can batch that and such but it'd be much easier to have Legacy handle this.

Finally, I'd like to see real support for Captions so that full detail, as it's presented in Legacy, can be shown below each photo. The mouse-over function is minimalistic and doesn't work in Firefox. I'd like to see the photo, see the Title I gave it in Legacy and the full description below that. This is easily coded in a table tag if the developers see the value.

The bottom line for me is that if I had the time to do all of this manually, I wouldn't own Legacy. I'd have taken the time to, perhaps, build a complex Filemaker database or Access solution, etc. I own Legacy, as I suspect many do, to save time and hassle and Legacy is fantastic at that. However, this one area is in need of attention. Web presentation because more and more important with the passing of time and this area should be a high priority in my opinion.
