I agree that using any web based email is not a good way to keep your personal business private. But in the case of mail lists, anyone can subscribe, so it is wide open anyway. Gmail is a good tool for this because of the way it groups (or threads) emails together. If there is an off line mail reader that does this as well, I would like to know about it.
But I also agree with Mary that we should wrap up this discussion. It is getting way off the topic of Legacy.
