I have tried downloading and each of the downloads I checked worked just fine. Are you doing the Full Setup or the Install from the Web? Maybe this is a problem with the internet cache on your system. Can you try downloading the full setup and instead of running it select to Save As and save the Legacy5Setup.exe to your desktop. After it is downloaded then simply run the file you saved to your desktop. After you finish the install you can delete the file from your desktop.

Thanks

Hi again Frode
Yes tried both sites - think I will go to bed and hope when the Millennia
crew wake up they are able to provide some clues. At present I have only
been able uninstall Legacy. Hopefully all my data is OK - do have backups.
Thanks for hanging in there with me.
Anne from Australia

Sorry, if you're not able to download the full setup I can't help you. Have
you tried both the Main site and the Alternate site?

It could be a problem in your end, but it could also be Millennia having
problems, specially since Barbara has the same problem. I noticed that some
minutes ago the web site was unavailable, but now it's ok again. So maybe
just wait until Millennia staff responds (I guess they're getting some well
earned sleep right now).

Computer program errror messages might not always be easy to grasp, because
they are made to cover specific situations that might not apply to you.

Please notice that it clearly says "If you are helping with public
testing....", and since you aren't you can ignore that part of the message.

However, it should also have said "If you are NOT helping with public
testing.... then you should do.... (so and so)."

Anyway, have you tried using my suggestion, and has it fixed the problem?

Frode

Frode thank you but I am still not understanding why I got this error message. Anne

Anne,

Since the download stopped midway your program is partly "old" build and
partly "new" build. Thus you get error messages when starting Legacy. One of
the things that Legacy checks for is that the language file corresponds with
the program build. (This is well known for us who are testing the
international versions).

I guess the best way to solve this is to download the full setup from
Millennia's web site, and just re-install with that file.

Hello I have just downloaded Legacy as per Ken's instructions and the download froze midway through. When I try to go into Legacy I get the following message:

"The Legacy file legacy.lng is the wrong version.
Expected version 03 Feb 2005 23.25.22
Your version 23 Mar 2005 18.46.56
If you are helping with public testing of one of the international languages
of Legacy then you should wait for an announcement from your Language's
mailing list and then use the links in that message or the one's on the team
website. When you install Legacy you should always download a matching
LegeacyAlt.lng file. You should never use the menu option within Legacy to
check for a legacy update and you should never download any General Release
builds announced by Milennia".

I cannot open Legacy at all - I get this message on every occasion. I have
never used anything but the English language and have never been involved in
public testing of one of the international languages.

Can this be fixed?

Sincerely
Anne Wiltshire
