After my suggestions and experimenting with both a Pet Event and adding a
Pet on the Child list I prefer the Event. I have edited the Event
description to my liking. I include the name, breed, and species in the
Description. This way a search can find all breeds, or species.

The first sentence for this reads:
[Name] had a pet named [Desc] born [Date] [inPlace]. [Notes]
Each following sentence is based on this.

Example:
Evan Matthew Henderson had a pet named Taj Mahal, a red & black Longhaired
Dachsund Canine born 28 Feb 1990. Matt adopted Taj March 1991. Taj was
escorted to the Rainbow Bridge with dignity after a lengthy battle with
Malignant Melanoma on 5 Sep 2003.

Bob,

You might want to create a new child Status Description, available through
the VIEW>CHILD Status LIST Or Master Child Status List

Possibilities are up to you. Obvious examples are "Pet Dog", Pet, or
Canine Companion, Feline Companion. I like the latter since a pet is more a
family member and a companion than a Pet.

Hi Mat,

I hadn't thought of using the 'prefix' option. I had thought of children
but couldn't think how to differentiate them from 'real' children.
