No ... the photos 'stick'' to a name ... they don't use ID numbers, etc ... just the names ... apparently handle multiples by their date placement in the file. I haven't had any problems with that.
I'd recommend just setting up an account and sending a small GEDCOM to populate it ... then a few photos ... seeing if you like it well enough to use it.
