Bernie, You are on the right track contacting the support people. I had the exact same problem you did after downloading the latest update and they had the solution for me. I had already tried the systems restore and even going back a week before my problem started, it didn't find anything wrong and wouldn't restore. But the support person who emailed me had the solution down to a "T" !
