Ron,

You have a very nice site. I see what you mean about putting the sources on the individual's page rather than to be compiled in a separate list including all the citations. I can see a real advantage to the method you used..

Here is an example of the "hanging parenthesis":

251 The Biographical Souvenir of the State of Texas: Containing Biographical Sketches of the Representative Public, and Many Early Settler Families (Chicago: F.A.Battey & Company, 1889. Images online at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfannin/s.html.
).

As you can see, I have the parenthesis just hanging below the source.

Any pointers appreciated---

Donna

Hi Donna,

I am afraid I am not too clear about your problem of random parentheses particularly since it is not one I have come across. Perhaps you could tell us which style you are using, eg Pedigree, Descendent etc and maybe paste an example and I will try and reproduce it.

You may care to look at my site which uses the Pedigree style and includes the sources on the individual's page - I prefer this as additions to one's files seem to change the reference numbers for the sources. On this site you will also find a few links to sites providing tools for web design.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Creating Family History Website

Hello----

I want to use Legacy to create a family history website. I experimented with the webpage creation function a little tonight. One thing I noticed was that there are random little parentheses hanging sometimes on the line following a source listing in my Bibliography. Can anyone point me in the right direction for fixing this? I searched the Legacy User Group archives but didn't find this addressed.

And my real question here is what source can I use to help me create the website? The little articles on the Expert Tips pages of the Legacy website are perhaps introductions, but I want something more in depth. Have you found books, CDs, videotapes, or online information that helped?

Warm Regards,

Donna
