Hi Pam If you settle on a Pocket PC then the best package available is Pocket Genealogist. This will allow you to directly synchronise the data between Legacy on the PC and "PG" on the handheld - no Gedcoms needed. All changes on the main pc update the database on the handheld when you carry out a synchronise. The only restriction is that you can't make changes on BOTH machines and expect it to synchronise.
It's a great package with the same great support (or even better) you expect here. Find it on http://www.NorthernHillsSoftware.com Jack -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Pam Sent: 12 May 2005 07:08 To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Using Legacy with handhelds I am in the process of buying a Pocket PC or Palm Handheld mainly to be used for genealogy!! I wondered if anyone has used one of these to load their Legacy files onto and which is best and /or easiest to use. Also what software does one need to be able to do this. I seem to remember reading somewhere that with one piece of software the Legacy data can be downloaded directly without exporting it to a GEDCOM file first? Any advice would be much appreciated.
