Hi

You can't do a Location Report for people with a given tag. You can do one for tagged locations - but that's not what you want.

When you show list for everyone in Vermont, tag that search list on an unused tag - eg 2
Then do a Search
first condition
Tag 1 equals tagged - direct line ancestors
AND
second condition
Tag 2 equals tagged - people connected with Vermont

The result will be direct line ancestors connected with Vermont.

Hope that is clear enough
You often have to think around to get what you want. We all should have had more logic lessons at school ;-)
I find tags easier than focus groups though having learnt you can tag a focus group has proved useful.

Note you are several builds behind.

Cheers,
Cathy

I can search on/show list of everyone in Vermont. What I want to do next is
print the people in that list with tag 1 (direct line ancestors). Can I do
that? If so, how?

If it can be done but requires multiple searches, please be very specific in
your instructions. I am having difficulty finding specific directions in the
manual or online help that deal with focus groups, search, save, load - I am
totally confused. I am surprised this hasn't been easier to figure out.

I thought wanting a list of direct ancestors by location would be a fairly
common need and therefore easy to do in Legacy.

I am using Legacy 5 Deluxe (Oct 2004 build)

Thanks
JH Todd
