Barb, to see what all the "regular" event sentences look like, click on View, then choose Master Lists, then choose Event Definitions. Now click "edit" an event, and you will see that there are built-in "codes" for all events. There is a [Sources] code built in to all the regular events.

The override is great when you want just one particular event to read a different way. You can just type in exactly what you want the sentence to say, or you can use coding - especially when you want to add the footnote you described. If you are in the Sentence Override box for an event, look just below it and you'll see a box that says, "[Name] - full name of individual." If you click on the drop-down arrow beside it, you'll see all the code choices you can insert. Tada - you're now a programmer!

I just got through editing a bunch of my sentences to read exactly how I want them to. It's a great tool!

I hope this helps!

Why do
you need to add [Sources] on an overide but it is not
needed on the regular sentence I don't know but it
works.
