Ed,

You can't run Legacy from the Flash drive. It must be installed on the hard
drive. However, you can keep your Family File on the drive and read it from
there.

If your local FHC doesn't already have Legacy on it's computers (many of
them do), please have them contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks for using Legacy.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Running legacy from flash drive / jump drive?

I just bought a USB memory stick (called a flash drive or jump drive, has
256 MB
capacity) down at Best Buy. I bought it so that I have a way to store
microfilm or book images from my trips to the library and Family History
Center.

But I got to thinking...

Is it feasible to install a copy of legacy on the flash drive, and use it on
the library or Family History Center computer? If so, I can have access to
my whole database while I'm doing research! But... I don't know if legacy
updates the registry or whatever. CAN I do an install to the flash drive,
give that copy my deluxe customer number, and carry all I need from computer
to computer?
