I agree that this discussion is appropriate here.... this is relevant
to gathering our data and anything that helps is welcomed by me.

At our FHC here we have managed to get new equipment that will allow you
to view/scan your info and save it to CD and go from there. The problem
we have is training our librarians who were still used to pencil and
paper.... until I arrived (young upstart that I am... aged 62.... and
started showing them what they could do with those computers they
had.... We also use Legacy... I have refused to support PAF for a
couple of years now and will gently recommend some one else to help them
if I can't turn them on to legacy but it is still a slow process) I
think we do have USB ports but we are still hyperventilating about
burning a CD.... heheheh

Please continue to share what you all are finding/doing as you research
and your great tips on how you adapt Legacy for your own personal info.

Laurie

[Was-- Running legacy from flash drive / jump drive?]

Just how do you get the image from the book or microfilm onto the flash
drive while at the library? The only way I know to do it is to make a
photocopy, take it home and scan it into the computer.

> I just bought a USB memory stick (called a flash drive or jump drive,
