Not really. Bigamist is an individual who marries another individual
while still legally married to someone else..........a criminal act and
thus a legal term. Polygamy is the practice of having more than one
spouse at one time........it is not a legal term.

Just a point on wording - a polygamist is a person with three or more
spouses at the same time. With *only* two spouses, the word is
bigamist.
