Or if it bothers people, they can set up their email client to process
read receipts automatically from newsgroups. (I know you can do it in
Outlook Express; GMail does not show them at all). I agree with Jack,
that this is not poor email etiquette, as we each have our won
preferences and the tools at our disposal allow us to manage this
effectively to suit our needs.

Still, it would be nice if read receipts were stripped off at the list
server, though I understand that this is operated by a 3rd party, not
the Legacy folk.
