Index view on my PC provides a handle for column width adjustments on all displayed columns.

No can do!! Each column is shown to exactly fit the space available and the
"handle" isn't accessible except on RIN and Sex.

In Index View, alter the column width by:
1) putting the mouse poiner over the column divider line, left click when
you see "the handle", drag, release
2) if the last column goes off the window, use the horizontal slider at the
bottom of the window to move to the right.
3) or, short another column temporarily to compress the display onto
existing window size,
   resize the last column(s), then resize the shortened column back.

Saving column widths:
1) After resizing per the above steps,
2) Go back to customize and save (or re-save) to a layout name, this should
save the column width.s
