Would this not be something that Legacy could incorporate as a template for the various Census? IF that was the case, then the entry could be done in a separate table and then the various individuals could be linked to the record. Additionally, this would be a feature of Legacy that no other program has - which is a major plus. Also, if there were notes from the research of the record, then they could be input as notes are put in about the birth, christening, marriage, death and burial. Additionally the image could be put in as pictures are now with the other events.
Additionally, Legacy could have a direct interface to the Census table through a screen and the researcher could would with the census and then link the various individuals to the census records. This would be a feature that right now is only in a very old program called Clooz. Thoughts from Legacy? For the head of household's record I put the entire thing, including the name of the head of family before and after on the census. Then I save that event and copy it into each person listed, but on their record I only keep the detail info pertaining to them in the notes. Example: Event: Census Description: household of William Hahn, ED 19, township 8, sheet 6A & 6B Date: 5 Jun 1900 Place: Mount Pleasant, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, USA. Notes: William Hahn, head, born Jan 1854, age 46, married 24 years, farmer, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Jane S Hahn, wife, born Oct 1856, age 43, married 24 years, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Matthew Hahn, son, born Sep 1879, age 20, single, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; H Clifford Hahn, son, born Jul 1881, age 18, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Hattie M, daughter, born Feb 1884, age 16, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Daisy J B, daughter, born Apr 1886, age 14, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Gathie Hahn, daughter, born Feb 1888, age 12, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Jason F Hahn, son, born Mar 1890, age 10, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Mittie E Hahn, daughter, born Oct 1892, age 8, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina; Josie P Hahn, daughter, born Feb 1895, age 5, born North Carolina, both parents born North Carolina. Neighbors to either side were the families of Calvin & Piety Page and Alfred & Nellie Coleman. William's brother Levi and his family lived on the other side of the Pages.
