Ron, It might be a "you can't get there from here" situation, but in general, you should be able to right click on a person, choose advanced tagging, and set tags that way. If you have a list of search results, click the options button at the bottom, and get to advanced tagging that way.
Of course the above does NOT quite answer your question... maybe you can get to something similar doing a search of marriages, or right clicking on the marriage?
