In the US. I'm in the Northeast and many of the headstones will list the husband's name first and then will read "His wife" and the wife's full name - First name, Maiden name. This is very common on French Canadian headstones. Occasionally the stone will be carved with the wife's maiden name in parentheses as a "middle name".
