Thanks Ron,

I just went back and tried to create the Legacy file again and guess
what, this time it worked. I have no idea what I did differently last
night.

Thanks for your time.

Dick

Hi Dick,
It may be that I am misunderstanding you but I have just created another

Gedcom file to compare directly with an old one which I have on file and

cannot see a difference. Below is an extract:
2 DATE 27 Mar 2005

3 TIME 23:23

1 OBJE

2 FORM jpg

2 FILE C:\Documents and Settings\Ron Ferguson\My
Documents\legacypicts\Clara.jpg

2 TITL Clara Ferguson

2 _DATE 1905

2 _SCBK Y

2 _PRIM Y

2 _TYPE PHOTO

1 FAMS @F52@

1 FAMS @F96@

1 FAMC @F7@

1 NOTE @HI72@

0 @HI72@ NOTE

1 CONC (Research):

1 CONT In the 1891 census the family's surname is incorrect (spel

1 CONC t FUrguson) and the initial letter of WAF's second name i

1 CONC s given as "H"

1 CONT

I have done nothing special, I used the standard export set for Legacy
output and ANSI code with "keep embedded code within text" box ticked.

Am I misunderstanding your problem as I am not clear about what you mean

about "stacking" as it does not seem to be happening to me

Ron,

In the past when I exported to a legacy file using a tag number, I just
was able to read the resulting file notes as exported.

Now all of the notes for all individuals are stacked.

So how do I export using a tag number where the resulting notes have the
same format as the original file?

Can you give me a step-by-step?

Thanks,

Dick

Hi Dick,

I suspect that this is not due to the new version of Legacy as I have
just
done the same thing - exported from one (tagged) Legacy file to a Gedcom
and
then imported to another Legacy file without a problem. Or are you using
a
different technique?

I just updated to the latest version of legacy.
Now when I export to Legacy using a tag number, all of my "notes" seem
to bunch together and all spacing seems to have been lost.
What is happening to my data?
Thanks,
Dick
