That's kind of what I was thinking, Cathy. I just wondered what the Legacy Programmers were thinking would be placed into the Description Field so that it would read clearly in their predefined sentence. For example, with the Residence event, the definition is "[HeShe] resided at [Desc] [onDate] [inPlace].[Sources] [Notes]" -- the programmers added the word "at" to make the Description make sense. I would have thought that they'd program the Military Service (and Discharge) event definition to include the little words like "as a" or just "as".
So I will go ahead and redefine the event definition. Thanks for the discussion.
