Searching "any and all text fields" is a built-in feature of another genealogy program. No need to create a GEDCOM or HTML file or download an extra "free" program. A default Legacy GEDCOM might have a search word like Massachusetts on two lines like the sample file:
2 NOTE The documents that list Asa's birth place as Massachusett 3 CONC s are very far removed from the actual birth date. His son 3 CONC , Lorenzo's death certificate lists his father as born in M 3 CONC assachusetts. Legacy users have recommended addons and temporary files since version 2 and hoped that each new release would have essential features like wall charts included. Separate files are less convenient even if the extra software is free! A full copy of Access in MS Office Pro is now $700 in my area and an upgrade version of MS Office with Excel is $300. Hope that Legacy 6 will have more options for Narrative reports so they don't need to be edited in a word processor at all. Legacy 5 has now had 47 public builds. -- Elizabeth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron > One way of searching for a word is to make web pages and then batch search > these for the word in question.
