If right click on generations exe file and select properties you can set Generations to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98

It still works just fine except that the colors on charts are goofy because of a difference in the screen's color mapping between Windoze 95 and 98 on the one hand and between Windoze XP, because XP uses the color mapping that Windoze NT used.
