Walt, Do you have that printer set as default printer?
To fix the dictionary error, dlose Legacy and using Windows Explore, go to the Legacy folder on your hard drive. Delete the legacy.lng file and the language.usr file. Then uninstall Legacy and reinstall Legacy with the latest build. I'm pretty sure reinstalling Legacy will fix the printer problem also. Make sure that you have all other programs closed down and your anti-virus software disabled when you reinstall. Thanks for using Legacy. Hi All, I am new to the group so please bear with me. I am using V5 and just recently received the following screen note when I first start the program. The first one says "Legecy can't find any printers defined for use with Windows. You will not be able to print any reports until you define a printer." I click on OK, and then I get "The dictionary files for English-United States could not be found. You can download them from the web by browsing to: http://www.LegecyFamilyTree.com/dictionaries.asp Would you like to browse to the web page now? OK Cancel Of course, if I go into the program and try to print, I can not do it. However, when I go to "Printer Setup" I can see my printer in the list, I can pick the printer but when I go to print a report, I get "No report can be printed untill you have defined a Windows printer." No matter what I do, I still get that note! Relative to the note about the English dictionaries, the web pages tells me that the English dictionaries can not be downloaded them but are included with the original install files. Can anyone make sense of this? Has anyone seen it before. I have Version 5.0.0.256 and Build Date 10 August 2005. I have tried many other genealogy programs and found Legecy to be the best. This is actually the first problem that I have experienced with Legecy after using it for several years. Can anyone help?? Sorry this has been so long. Thanks, Walt Powis Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
