The reason for gedcom format losing its value
as a transfer tool, is that genealogy software
programs are often so bloated with so many bells
and wissells that they exceed the gedcom format.
People often think since their software has a certain
feature, then it is part of the gedcom format.
That is not necessarily true. The more bloated
our software gets, the less gedcom's usefulness.
Our greed is killing gedcom.
