Jon,

I noticed the comment and so I uninstalled V5 on my laptop (running Windows
ME). When I installed V6 I had lost ALL my settings.

So when I installed it on my desktop (running XP SP2) I decided to try to
install it without uninstalling V5 first. (I knew that if all else failed I
could uninstall and clear out registry settings etc and then install again.)

It worked fine. Everything was just as I had it set up in V5 - so a very
happy bunny.

It would be nice to know what the risk is of just installing the new version
without uninstalling the old copy. But it seems to be fine

It is not too late Jack, If your laptop can talk to the Desktop simply copy all the .usr , .rf0 and .rf1 files from the Desktop's Legacy folder to the laptop Legacy folder. Those are the files that have your special setting in them. In future if you copy those files from the Legacy folder to another folder before making a new installation you can copy them back after the install is finished to reset your settings the way you like.
