I have read through most of the comments here over the last couple of days, and I have some initial thoughts.

First, I am running XP Pro on a very fast PC with 2MB RAM, so I cannot comment on system issues. I have had none.

I have come from Generations/Reunion and FTM to Legacy, primarily because of reviews and attractive pricing. None of these programs is perfect.

I like the web-building feature of Legacy. Neither of the two programs I used before had this built in. But I agree with one poster who complained that everything is in the past tense. It's eerie reading about ones' self in the past tense -- like reading one's own obit.

I too was expecting better charting capabilities in V6. I don't think one should pay 20 or 30 dollars for an add-on that other programs include. Futhermore, besides a large variety of charting options, FTM offers a unique feature called an all-in-one chart, which can be published as a PDF. This is a great feature, and one reason I'll keep FTM on my PC just to import GEDOMs from Legacy and make these charts to post on the web. My website is just starting out -- it's about a week old -- but if you'd like to check out my PDF, it's here: http://www.kalmans.net/Data/allinone.pdf . I'd love to see Legacy provide similar capability.

I feature I really liked in Reunion was that sources could be indicated in the person's data at specific points with superscripts. When the superscript is clicked, the source appears in a pop-up. So if an individual's notes are compiled from several sources, the sources could be indicated separately in the text as "footnotes." Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't figure out if this is possible in Legacy. Entering sources though is definitely easier in Legacy.
