I followed Patricia's suggestion and have mine all cleared up now, also.
In my case there were many notes attached to
birth/baptism/death/burial/marriage and events as well as general,
research and medical notes.

Thank you for your suggestion. I was doing this, but with 3000 plus
people on the database and married notes as well, it would have taken
years. I solved the problem by putting the report into a PDF file and
going through to find the spaces. All done now.

Perhaps the following might be of use to you:

Go to the name list and click on the note tab so
you can tell if the selected individual has any notes
of either kind (* on tab of General, Research or Medical). Where there
is a note, click on that tab and click below and to the right of the
last visible character in the note and the cursor will go to the right
of the last actual character and you can tell if there are spaces or
other invisible characters you want to delete in the note.

It is easy to go down the list of names in the Name list to get to each
one.
