Thanks to the comments about Intellishare and the problem with "Tabs", I found out what the issue was with exiting from Notes.
In V5 I created a four person database. Two of the people had the Tab character used in the Notes and the other two didn't. Everything working Ok in V5. In V6 I opened the Notes of each person and tried to exit without saving. Both of the people where Tabs were used gave me the Warning Window about losing changes. The other two were fine. I then opened and Saved the notes for one of the people where Tabs were used - The Tabs had been converted to one space! I could enter and leave the notes page witohu a problem after that. But it does mean that data is being changed and messing up your formatting.
