Perhaps the problems are hardware related and not OS related.  We have XP,
XP64, Win2000, WinME and Win98 and are having no problems with vs6 on any of
them. My husband is the hardware maintainer and upgrader and installer so
ours are all working fine.  We actually only use his XP, my XP64 and the
Win98 Laptop regularly but have the other systems here for the grandkids and
use them to try various pieces of SW.

Jack, I would like to comment on  your last few words - V6 is certainly
great, but the '98 issues are far from niggly. As you said, you are
using ME not '98 so you obviously don't really know how it is.
