Jim,

Got it!! Number 2 was my problem - I never turned on color coding for the starting person (myself). Everything looks good now.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

The 4 line colors work for me. There are a few steps involved in getting
the 4 generation line colors to work in the Timeline report:
1. Turn on the option for color coding ancestors. Click on Options >
Customize and select the View tab in the Customize screen. Next check the
box ‘Display custom generation line colors on screen.’ (I do this because it
makes it easy for me to see the staring person for the colors in Family
View.)
2. Apply color coding to the starting person for generation line colors in
your family file. (This is usually yourself.) Click on Tools > Apply
Ancestor Colors. 3. In the Timeline reports screen, click the ‘Color Text and Boxes’ button to open the Custom Color screen and select the 4 line color option.
Usually when a timeline report coloring is not right it’s because you need
to reset the starting person (step 2).

Good luck,
Jim Terry

Subject: [LegacyUG] Color Text and Boxes in Timeline Report

Can anyone confirm a problem I am having with the "Color Text and Boxes" settings for the Timeline Report . . .

When I choose "Male/Female Colors" I get the expected blue and red boxes on the report. When I choose the "4 Line Colors (Blue, Green, Red, Yellow) I get no colors at all on the report.

Bob
