Well, for one thing, it avoids the contortions we presently have to go through with brackets and odd ways of using the address fields.
It avoids duplication of all kinds. Perhaps my example wasn't too clear. With a Local Site field you can enter anything you like - A hospital, church or cemetery name for example, with or without a street address. You could also have just a street address. When it is joined to the Location field, you get the entire Location field. So you can have: Mercy Hospital, 111 Smith Street, Anytown, Anystate, Country.....or however you have set up your place names. If you want to see how it works in another program, have a look at Genbox. You could download their 30 free trial and add a few people to see how it can be used. Keith Bage BAGE One Name Study (GOONS registered # 4451) P. S. Check out Legacy Family Tree today! This full featured genealogy program can be downloaded FREE at http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Index.asp?mid=5917ADi Is Legacy ever going to include a Local Site field as is included in some other genealogy software programs? This is linked to the Place field, and is where you can enter something like: Mercy Hospital, 111 Smith Street. In reports it then is rendered: Mercy Hospital, 111 Smith Street, Anytown. It should be available for all events including Born, Baptised, Died, Buried and Married. I am sure this is one wish that many other users would share.
