My own personal preference has been to indicate as
follows: "1880 US Census/Centre, PA". When I begin a
find on "1880", the whole list of 1880 locations comes
up, and I can choose the correct one. Having worked
for the Postal Service in the past, I've developed an
affinity for numbers, I guess.
