It helps to have a specific problem (mystery) that can be solved by DNA
testing. That's why I had both Y and X chromosome analysis done recently
by Relative Genetics.

For example, in my paternal line, the story told by my great grandaunt was
that my greatgrandfather ANDREW, whose surname I carry, was actually born
ADAIR by a father ho either never married or deserted the child, who was
then adopted by ANDREW. DNA Y chromosome analysis should eventually settle
whether my (along with my father's, paternal uncles', brothers', and son's)
DNA matches ANDREW or ADAIR, and I should eventually solve the mystery of
my greatgrandfather, and, in the process, find some long-lost cousins!
