Oh, that explains it.  I do a backup when I exit Legacy.

First, you must have the latest build of Legacy 6, 6.0.073.

Second, the backup multimedia files message comes up after you do 
a backup of your data file. It is not a prompt that comes up when 
you exit Legacy. You can however turn on a prompt to back up your 
data file when you exit. Go to Options/Customize/Other and click 
on the button under message boxes. The third choice on the 
prompts/reminders tab is the one you want turned on to prompt for 
backup on exit.

Note though that the only way to get the multimedia backup prompt 
is to d a manual backup of your file. The backup on exit does NOT 
prompt for multimedia backup.
