I am unsure how you are trying to open the ged files. You cannot open
them directly from Legacy - you need to import them into Legacy.

Alternatively, save the ged files to an appropriate folder and try to
open them with Wordpad or another text editor. As ged files are
simply text files, this will show if the files are corrupt or not.

If I've got the bull by the horns come back to me and I'll try again.
If you wish, you could email the ged files privately to me, NOT to the
LUG. I will delete the files promptly after I see what could be the
problem.

Cheers,
