In my case, they wouldn't have the same surname (unless they were actually relatives who were adopted in). And if they did, you can eliminate anyone with a child status of "adopted". Adopted "out" would not be a problem because they should still show up as part of their natural family. And in my case they would have their birth surname. -- Dennis M.
