I know your grief. The first time I did a web download from another programme, I did the same.

This can be done by tagging only the people you want in the web page.

You can tag everyone in the file, then untag that person and their descendants.

Or you can mark them as private. This is the unfortunate part. You can't do this easily, except by marking each individual person. Or, if you are proficient in Access, it is easy to do from that programme.

So a big request from the programmers - treat the private flag like any other and allow us to set it from a search result screen.

So in summary, tag everyone (Search - Find - Individual with Tag 1 set to untagged. This should give you everyone if you don't use tage 1. Then in options, advanced tagging, tag them all) and then untag the descendants (right click on the person, select tagging, and do the untagging from the advanced tagging screen).

When you make web pages, in the who tab, select the individuals with the 1 tag

Or do an advanced set living - Tools, Advanced Set Living - and then untag everyone who is living. Do this by selecting everyone and tag them all, then Search - Find and find anyone who is living. Then select Options - Advanced Tagging and untag all living people.

It is easier than it sounds....

HI,
I currently have my family tree listed at my website on http://www.ainsleehooper.com/ahooper/ I've received a request from a relative to remove their name from the site along with a couple of generations worth. I'm happy to do this for all of the living relatives in the branch. How can I do this without having to go through individually and setting each one to private? Thanks in advance, Ainslee
