Hi Bob,
Good question...
The only way I can see to search the To Do list for certain criteria, such
as unanswered correspondence, would be to use the filtering and tagging
options under the "Filter Options" tab, and perhaps along with the options
under the "Sort Order" tab. Then scroll through each Open "Type =
Correspondence" To-Do item to see what is still pending.
Unless you have very many To-Do items to search through, this should be a
workable way of finding what you're after. Still, it might be nice to have a
way of using Legacy's Search function to find particular To-Do items.
Kind regards,
Dan Bateham

Dan,
Thanks for the suggestions. Your way of keeping track of the
correspondence sent using the "To-Do" list in Legacy certainly appears
elegant, but is there any way of seeing what correspondence hasn't been
answered yet?? In other words, can the "To-Do" list be searched for those
letters and requests that you have not yet received a reply to??
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,
When using the "To Do" list to remind me of correspondence to be sent, I
find that I have everything I need in one place without needing a
separate Correspondence Log.
Here's what works for me:
I use the "Description Tab" for information about the correspondence yet
to be sent including: To whom, perhaps body of text, other notes about
the letter to be sent (any other reminders concerning the correspondence
for myself).
Next, under the "Results Tab" I keep a running "log" to track the status
of the correspondence, including: the date sent, what was received in
reply and when, or a note stating no reply was received, and any notes
for follow-up. This I keep going until the particular "To Do" item in
considered complete.
When the particular "To Do" in considered complete, i.e. correspondence
sent and received, follows completed (thank you note sent, annotations to
database from received material, etc.) I then fill in the "Close Date"
field. The "To Do" can then be kept as a record or "log" of what has been
done.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
