Subject: [LegacyUG] I guess I'm in the minority here...

I've read with great interest all the e-mails in response to Renee's blog on Family Tree.

I guess I'm in the minority here, because I think Legacy is a wonderful program. Does it have some bugs, yes. But what program doesn't? How many programs are there that provide the customer to company contact we have with Millenia?

I recently gave a presentation on Legacy that reminded me of how much this program offers.

And I don't know what is wrong with Millenia working with Salt Lake. I personally see this as a good thing. Salt Lake offers more than just Family Search/IGI. They are digitizing original records. If Legacy can interface with this - GREAT!

I guess I'm just a little tired of all the bashing of Legacy and Salt Lake (Mormons). Salt Lake seems to be working hard to provide a tremendous amount of genealogical material FREE of charge! Are there problems with the quality of information in Ancestral File/IGI - of course. But this is hardly a condition unique to "Mormons." And all the complaining about Legacy not providing this or that fix, or concentrating too much in one area. Geesh...Millenia is in a no win situation - someone is bound to be unhappy no matter where they put there efforts.

I for one love the people at Millenia - they are responsive and helpful. They have created a wonderful and powerful program that I am grateful for. I'm so appreciative that Salt Lake is digitizing their microfilm/microfiche - what a boone this will be to research.

Like I said...I seem to be in the minority.
