Oh, just that xp can fail in such a way that the file directory for
"system" files gets corrupted, so c:\program files, c:\system,
c:\windows, and c:\D&S, etc. become unreadable. It used to be called the
file allocation table. However, things the user makes, such as c:\aa may
survive.  To recover you boot from a cd or a floppy, and c:\aa is
readable.  This happened to me, which is why I don't store anything in
c:\D&S.
  You obviously know more about computers.  Will registry corruption
result in the above?  I think that was it.
