Hi Randy (and Julian)
Your problem appears not to be Duplicate people meaning more than one
RIN for the same person - when the solution is to Merge them or
Delete one. Rather you appear to have more than one link to a parent
or more than one link for the same marriage. You need to unlink and,
if necessary, relink them correctly.
If you link a child to mother or father rather than to parents (the
correct mother and father), you'll create another "marriage" for the
mother or father.
To unlink, right click on the person and choose one of the Unlink
options. The next screen includes a Help button which is context
sensitive and will tell you more about what the other buttons do.
Similarly you can unlink "marriages". Check the spouse icon to see
how many "marriages" Legacy thinks the person has. Some will be with
unknowns/blanks.
If you need more specific directions, can you give a more specific example?

I am having a small problem with 6.0 Deluxe. In several areas, I
display duplicate children or parents. They are not really
duplicates and deleting one causes both to be deleted. This seems
to be unique to GEGCOM imports where a child is brought in as the
child of a mother who is already listed as a child of the
husband/father. Anyone want to suggest how I get rid of this aggravation?
