Jennie, I use a combination of Joe's example and Elsie's. When I have a clipped-out standalone obituary, newspaper and date unknown, I use the master source "Obituary," and then in the source detail give the name of the person who died, and an approximate date.
For obituaries whose source I do know, I use the name of the newspaper as my master source (also similar to Lisa), and in the detail source, list the name of the deceased, cite the heading/title or use the word Obituary, the date of the obituary, and page number (if known). I type up a transcription and paste it into the source detail text. If the obituary is especially flowery, I copy it complete into the Obituary event. If it is bare bones and repeats other events and facts already in my tree, I simply use it as a source for the death info, or whatever new info is gleaned from it. I've liked how this prints out in my reports, so suggest you try what you like, and then print a report and see if you like how it appears.
