Hi Paul,

I use the same technique as Mike. You will find that the child shows up twice on the Family View both as a 1/2 child and a full child. I also use this method when the biological father is not known and the child takes the surname of the mother's husband by a later marriage.

Paul,

The way I handle this is to add the children from the first marriage to the
second marriage with "link to an existing son/daughter" and add the adopted
children to the second marriage. Then under children's settings of the
second marriage set the relationship to the father as adopted and the
relationship to mother as biological.

Subject: [LegacyUG] 1/2 Children Adoption by 2nd Parent

Hello,

I have a family where the wife married and had 3 children by the
first husband. (Louis Croteau)

He died and she remarried again. (Eugene Croteau - 5th cousins)

The second husband (Eugene) ADOPTED the 3 children and this couple
went on had more children together.

Although I can see (show 1/2 kids) all the children on the second
marriage, when I go to CHILDRENS SETTINGS, I can' view the 1/2
children to place the child's status as ADOPTED.

How can I show these three children are adopted by the second husband?

Thanks,
Paul Croteau
