Right click on the name of the person you wish to be the preferred child and you will see a pop-up with "set 'name' as preferred Child". Click on that and a star will appear against the name in the Family View.
Ah, well, my Legacy (6.0, deluxe) must be broke then because I'm not getting that :-(
There is a star next to the preferred child when I look in Children's Settings, but nothing in Family View.
BTW, is it possibly to UN-prefer a child without making another one Preferred?
